Partners with Community  

The essence of MainStreet Hobbs is to identify new market opportunities for the traditional commercial district, find new uses for historic commercial buildings and stimulate investment in property. With a comprehensive approach, our goal is to develop a thorough understanding of the districts economic condition; identify opportunities by focusing on incremental changes that will gradually improve the area's economic foundation and eventually enable large-scale investments. This effort will only be possible through active partnerships with community members and organizations.

MainStreet Hobbs has developed partnerships to ensure that the planning process achieves the goals that matter most to the Hobbs community.

These partners include the following:

City of Hobbs Working as an extension to promote, market and revitalize the Heart of Hobbs
Committee for Hobbs Focusing through a subcommittee on beautification, liter pick-up, landscaping and cleaning up in the City of Hobbs and in Lea County.
Economic Development Corporation of Lea County Partnering with the county economic development agency to recruit and retain businesses that fit in with the overall economic restructuring plan for downtown historic Hobbs.
Hobbs Chamber of Commerce Working in cooperation with the organization that promotes businesses in Hobbs and regionally.
Hobbs Hispano Chamber of Commerce Working with the primary advocate for Hispanic-owned businesses in the historic downtown to improve the level of service, visibility and viability.
J. F Maddox Foundation Partnering with a private foundation to program downtown historic Hobbs and improve its overall quality as a community center.
Lea County Working to make Lea County the best place to live, work and do business by expanding businesses and improving the quality of life through promoting special events and helping in overall county beautification and awareness.
Lea County Commission for the Arts (LCCA) Planning, organizing and promoting the arts in the downtown historic district with the organization charged with the promotion of the arts in Lea County.
